IPF Qualifying Standards - Update

The new qualifying standards come into effect from 19 August 2017.

This means, for competitions that are after 19 August 2017 the new qualifying totals will apply.

The reason for increasing the qualifying totals is for two reasons. A number of years ago when membership and participation was low the qualifying totals were lowered to improve the numbers participating at Nationals and going onto International competitions. And over the past couple of years there has been a very high number of competitors who are consistently achieving higher totals.

It's really important that you read the link below because the qualifying totals, although effective from 19 August means that depending on the competition a lifter intends to compete that you may need to achieve the new qualifying standard prior to 19 August.

Also we now have a number of members residing overseas who wish to represent NZ therefore the participation rules have been updated accordingly and become effective as of 5 March 2017.
